Product Update
In this blog post, I am excited to introduce you to CompetitionControl, a new way to customize your gameplay that is now available in Netherite and the new Obsidian regedit, coming in a base and a pro version!
CompetitionControl is available for both Obsidian and Netherite regedits.
*CompetitionControl Pro* gives you even more control over your gameplay and is only available in Netherite.
Let's take a look at how it works.
We wanted to give you more control over how you want your game to feel, as this is another aspect that is unique to each player.
When configuring your Netherite package, two new questions will appear:
1 - What is your preferred attacking style? (CompetitionControl) -> How your hits and game elements like pots and pearls feel.
2 - What is your preferred defensive style? (CompetitionControl Pro) -> How your knockback feels.
To help you answer these two questions for yourself, I will break down the options you have for each: Reactive, Balanced, and Delayed.
Reactive is the right choice if you want your game to feel fast and sharp, and works especially well if you have a low ping to the server you are playing on (around 25ms and under).
Hits and knockback are snappy, and your inputs feel like they are instantly translated into your game.
This playstyle requires precise timing and thoughtful movement in 1-on-1 combat. If that's not a challenge for you, then this is the playstyle for you.
A balanced playstyle combines the best of both worlds and is best if you don't prefer either extreme.
Regardless of your ping, this playstyle feels refined and smooth and does not require the same precision as reactive.
When you choose Balanced, we take another look at your network and adjust your attack or defense to be either a bit more reactive (when your connection is slower) or more delayed (when your connection is faster), ensuring a great experience for your unique system at all times.
Finally, you can choose Delayed for a delayed gameplay.
With a similar feel to a higher ping, hits and knockback are delayed, giving you more leisure; this playstyle is the most forgiving of timing errors in PvP, giving you more opportunities and making it harder to get comboed.
Delayed is a popular choice for defense in CompetitionControl Pro!
If you have a higher ping and are used to playing with lag, this setting may complement your playstyle. And if you have a medium to low ping, you can enjoy the benefits of more relaxed play.
We have chosen these names and explanations, because from our testing, they reflect the effects felt in-game best, so you end up with an even better, more unique gameplay enhancement.
Keep in mind that regedits cannot interact directly with Minecraft and, for example, reduce your knockback by X percent, as cheat clients can do.
To achieve reactive, balanced, and delayed effects, we tune your network configuration in unique ways, but do not modify your game files.
In addition, CompetitionControl Pro is currently in beta. All updates are free for you and we will update your file, which you can download at any time from the same link.
We hope this article helped you decide which playstyle to choose for your new Obsidian or Netherite regedit! You can configure it here.
Can't wait for you to try CompetitionControl and experience the control you have over your gameplay first-hand!
